My airplane is a typical Piper Cherokee: 4 seats, low wing, fixed gear, fixed-pitch propeller.

She flies at about 110 knots (nautical miles per hour), which is about 130 MPH (statue miles per hour), or about 200 KPH (kilometers per hour).

She was born in 1969, and still has original paint and upholstery (but some of the equipment has been updated!)

The Young Eagles program began on December 17 1993, exactly 10 years before the 100th anniversary of Orville and Wilbur Wright's first flight.

The goals was to provide aviation experiences and flights to at least ONE MILLION children by the time of the anniversary.

The program was so successful (1.1 million kids were airlifted by over 35,000 pilots) that everyone decided to aim for another million in the following 10 years!

Downtown Toronto is a great place for aerial sightseeing.

The CN Tower is the most prominent and tallest building, and the Rogers' Center (white domed roof, to the left/west, in the picture) is also easy to spot.

Of course, the other buildings in the downtown core also provide good subjects for photography.
